Abstract:
Provided is an upper structure for a shoe by which it is possible to improve fit and hold when turning. In an upper (2) covering the foot of the wearer of the shoe, an elastic portion (20) is disposed in a metatarsal region (M) corresponding to the metatarsal portion of the foot, and a non-elastic portion (21) is disposed in an inner instep region and an outer instep region which exclude the metatarsal region (M). The boundary surface between the elastic portion (20) and the non-elastic portion (21) is formed of a substantially flat surface. Respective edges (20E, 21E) of the elastic portion (20) and the non-elastic portion (21) are sewn together at the boundary surface so that no seam appears at the boundary surface.
