Abstract:
Provided is an upper tool holder for a press brake. The upper tool holder includes the following components: a holder body; an upper tool clamper which is provided on the holder body and swingable in an open/close direction upon replacement of the upper tool; a drop prevention piece which is provided at a lower portion of the upper tool clamper and can engage with a drop prevention groove formed on the upper tool; an engagement recess which is formed either on an upper portion of the upper tool clamper or on the holder body; an engagement member which is formed on the other of the upper portion of the upper tool clamper and the holder body and can engage with the engagement recess; an auxiliary urging mechanism which serves as resistance when the upper tool clamper is further opened to remove the upper tool in a downward direction and which also assists a closing action when the upper tool clamper is closed from the aforementioned further opened state; and a pusher member which is provided in the auxiliary urging mechanism, the pusher member being normally located in place irrespective of an open/close action of the upper tool clamper and energized in the direction of closing the upper tool clamper. The upper tool holder can prevent the upper tool from being dropped due to the upper tool clamper being unexpectedly opened and provide improved safety.
