Abstract:
Provided is an upward flow filtration apparatus comprising: a filtration tank comprising an inlet for inflow of feed water (sewage) formed at a lower end and an outlet for the discharge of filtrated water (purified water) formed at an upper end which creates high filtration efficiency and allows backwash to be more easily and successfully carried out; media layers wherein media having different fiber thickness are arranged to form a plurality of layers, provided inside the filtration tank; a plurality of screens provided on upper and lower surfaces of the media layers for preventing separation of the media, on which a plurality of fine holes are formed; a stirring device comprising a rotation axis crossing the center of the filtration tank upwards and downwards, and a rotation wing provided in the rotation axis to stir the media, provided inside the media layers; and a backwash device for supplying backwash water into the media layers for carrying out backwash.
