Abstract:

A urea derivative represented by the following general formula (I). It has irritative activity on a V2 receptor and is useful as a preventive or therapeutic agent for central diabetes insipidus, night frequent urination, night enuresis, etc. A compound represented by the formula (A) [wherein R¹ and R⁸ each independently is, e.g., hydrogen or optionally substituted C_1-7 alkyl; R² is, e.g., hydrogen or optionally substituted C_1-7 alkyl; R³ is, e.g., hydrogen or halogeno; R⁴, R⁵, and R⁶ each independently is, e.g., hydrogen, halogeno, or halo(C_1-7 alkyl); R⁷ is, e.g., heteroaryl, C_6-10 aryl, or -O-R⁷¹ (R⁷¹ is, e.g., optionally substituted C_1-7 alkyl); Y is, e.g., CH; and the asterisked carbon atom is a carbon atom in the R or S configuration or indicates a mixture of the two configurations], a pharmacologically acceptable salt of the compound, or a prodrug of either is provided.
