Abstract:
An USB and external Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (eSATA) connector includes a socket (1) and a plug (2). There is a cavity for containing said plug in the body. The cross section of the cavity in the socket is rectangular. Correspondingly, the outer frame of the plug is rectangular too. Power supply pieces (4) are disposed on the inner sides of the two side walls of the socket. Correspondingly, power supply terminals (5) are disposed on the outer surfaces of the two side walls of the outer frame of the plug. Said power supply terminals contact with the power supply pieces on the socket, when the socket connects with the plug. A protruding sensing terminal (6) is disposed on one side wall of the socket. The sensing terminal contacts with the copper casing which is on the outer of the socket, when the plug connects with the socket. Fool proofing is achieved by the corresponding designing sizes of the plug and the socket. Meanwhile, the problem of warp of the USB terminal in the plug is solved.
