Abstract:
Disclosed is a use of 2,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid or a salt compound thereof in the preparation of a drug for treating iron overload diseases. Iron overload comprises exogenous iron overload and endogenous iron overload. Exogenous iron overload refers to iron overload caused by long-term dependency on blood transfusion. Related diseases caused by exogenous iron overload are selected from thalassemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, myelodysplastic anemia, or hemochromatosis. Related diseases caused by endogenous iron overload are selected from diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hyperuricemia, coronary heart disease, stroke, vascular sclerosis, cirrhosis, pulmonary fibrosis, rheumatic arthritis, osteoporosis, Alzheimer's disease, tumor or aging.
