Abstract:
[Problem] To provide, as a therapeutic or prophylactic agent for ATL, a compound which replaces injections ("Vidaza (registered trademark)" or "Dacogen (registered trademark)") clinically used as a therapeutic agent for high risk myelodysplastic syndromes or acute myeloid leukemia, has high stability against cytidine deaminase, a metabolic hydrolase, is absorbed in the body even by means of oral administration, and has an effect of inhibiting DNA methyltransferase (DNMT) by being incorporated into a nucleic acid biosynthesis route. [Solution] Provided is a prophylactic/therapeutic agent for ATL, the agent containing a compound represented by formula (I) or a salt thereof (in the formula, R is an OR3 group or a hydrogen atom, R1, R2, and R3 are each a hydrogen atom or a silyl group represented by formula (II) (in the formula, R4, R5, and R6 are each an alkyl group, an aryl group, or an arylalkyl group which may have a substituent); however, the case where R1, R2, and R3 are all a hydrogen atom is excluded).
