Abstract:
Disclosed is use of Eucommia ulmoides male flower extract in the preparation of a food or a medicament for resisting muscle aging, belonging to the technical field of plant extracts. The main active ingredient of the Eucommia ulmoides male flower extract is iridoids, and the Eucommia ulmoides male flower extract comprises aucubin, geniposide, geniposidic acid, and asperuloside. It is disclosed for the first time that the Eucommia ulmoides male flower extract and the iridoid compounds contained therein have mitophagy activation activity and maintain normal mitochondrial function by effectively stimulating the mitophagy. The extract has a strong ability to prevent or alleviate aging-related muscle hypofunction.
