Abstract:
Provided is a technology for controlling the use of an object to be used, wherein security risks are reduced while improving convenience, and predetermined use of the object to be used is limited to a legitimate user. A use control device (1), upon receiving a use limit removal request from a user terminal (4) via short-range wireless communication (63), verifies a signature included in the use limit removal request using a public key that is set in the use control device (1). Once the verification is successful, the use control device (1) removes a first use limit (door lock and a lock on a key box (10)) with respect to a vehicle (5) if the terms of use in a use permit included in the use limit removal request are satisfied. Further, once the first use limit is removed, facial authentication is implemented using captured data including a facial image of a user in the driver's seat captured by a camera (2), and facial authentication information included in the use limit removal request. If the facial authentication is successful, a second use limit (lock on engine start) with respect to the vehicle 5 is removed.
