It details the use relation of raw RLM(Rhemannia glutinosa Liboschtz var. purpurea Makino) and dried RLM for treating the virus infestation of the respiratory tract:

In particular, the present invention has been objected by the use of raw RLM and dried RLM in the preparation of the antiviral medicine for treating the measles, the mumps, the influenza (subtype), the parainfluenza, the hand-foot-mouth disease, the varicella and the herps zoster which is RNA virus or DNA virus infestation.

Background and Object of the Invention

In our days, the epidemic disease, especially, the viral diseases that are the Influenza, the

Measles, ihe SARS, the HIV, the Ebola hemorrhagic fever and etc. are have been raged throughout the world, and several millions of people are suffered the pain and not a few people are dead.

Among them, the influenza and measles that are respiratory epidemic diseases have recorded not a few death due to occur in locally or worldwide, small and large epidemic several times till now. Although the occurrence of the measles and the mumps that are children's acute epidemic diseases have been better reduced by introduction of the vaccine, but it has still suggested as an important subject the children death by the measles for not inventing the effidacious antiviral medicine.

The Special prevention and treatment medicines for the varicella and the hand- foot-mouth disease that are the children's acute epidemic diseases are not invented.

It is actual problem to develop the wide-curable antiviral medicine and use it for preventing and treating the epidemic disease.

The reason for riot developing such an effective and high ideal antiviral medicine still now is that almost medicines which inhibit the duplication course of virus that is the epiphyte in cell react fatally to the cell.

The analysis is of the such developed antiviral medicines till now shows almost chemical compound medicines by means of the gene combinations not any natural ones yet.

In CN 2010 10182800, it ha been disclosed that about 25 medicines extracted from dandelion, peppermint, weeping willow, mulberry, chrysanthemum, figwort etc. have been used in medical treatment of eruptive measles.

Influenza A(subtype)

Tamiflu, distributed by Roche Laboratories Inc., is being widely used as antiviral drugs for the treatment of Influenza A and it has been reported that this medicine helps to prevent the infection of virus into organism so that the virus couldn't be invaded in host cell by causing activity of neuraminidase to inhibit.

In WO2008/031315(LOU, Shirong), it has been disclosed that about the treatment of HsNi "bird flu" virus has been published as the preventive and treatment medicines for the viral infection including the agent of solidago virgaurea and disclosed it effective in the treatment of the AIDS virus.

In "The research on the prescription composition of arctium virus liquid medicine" ("Korean Pharmacopoeia" Feb. 2013), it has disclosed that extract agent of arctium, RLM and

periostracuiri cicadae has taken effect in the treatment of influenza virus (HiNi).

In WO2012/075646 Al, it has disclosed that the extraction of aeorg and arctium has high effect for the treatment of an influenza HilSii.

(D Varicella

In CN 03125086, it has disclosed that the 17 species extraction including hemp seed, tree peony bark, peach kernel has high effect in the treatment of varicella.

(4) Herpes zoster

Acycloguanosine has the selective^ antiviral activity against simple herpes virus including varicella-herpes zoster virus and been widely used in the treatment of varicella-herpes zostei virus infection.

In CN102379957, it has disclosed that the extraction of the forsythia, honeysuckle, rhubarb* patchouli and rhizome dryopteris has high effect in the treatment of herpes zoster virus infection. (D Mumps

In CN 201110336937, it has disclosed that the extraction from Scutellaria baicalensis, lonicera japonica thunbpa, forsythia, chrysanthemum indicum, glycyrrhiza etc., has high effect in the treatment of mumps.

(6) Parainfluenza

In WO2009146807A1, it has disclosed that the compositions based on benzophenahthridine alkaloids extracted from hippophae rhamnoides and echinacea angustifolia have high eifect in the treatment of parainfluenza virus.

® Hand- foot-mouth disease

Not yet developed any vaccine and special curative medicine for it. tip to now, in consequence of analyzing the prior arts of some representative epidemic diseases that have been infected to the respiratory tract, the individual duplicating course of a virus has been objected in chemical synthesis.

Because, the range of treatment has been limited in the different stadiums stnd the inhibition application of the corresponding materies morbi has been only recognized, so that the wide- antiviral reaction isn't expected.

And also, the product process is complicated and expensive, the secondary reaction and contraindication in real clinical practice pan be introduced, there are some considerable problems.

In traditional herbal extract composition, it has been only limited to the treatment of the symptoms represented by a corresponding materies virus, and also there are some considerable problems with many composition rates of traditional herbals, etc.

Therefore, it is urgent subject to develop the non-antigen specific wide-antiviral medicine on respiratory tract.

The object of invention is to provide the use of the various extracts that contains raw RLM and dried RLM as main component to treat complication that is R Aor DNA virus infection and mixed infection, and the preparation method of such extraction.

Summar of the Invention

In the traditional documents, it is mentioned that epidemic is called as exteroceptive febrile disease.

Therefore, the most common and specific symptoms in the clinical appearance is the febrility and the febrility has the different characteristics according to the epidemic disease.

Thus, the febrility has the diagnosis significance.

And the febrility has bad effect to organism ith materies morbi and toxin, so that it is the important subject of the treatment to solve for the epidemic disease.

The febrility makes a great change in the body function.

In particular, the febrility makes rapid progress and the time maintained by high febrility is long in the respiratory epidemic disease, Therefore, the febrility, which is the important symptom of the epidemic diseases, has been objected and pharmacological actio of the various CYRH( CHONGYOLRYANGHYOL) medicines ( this medicine of which property is cold goes down the febrility by getting off the haematic nosogenesis.) has been used as the main action.

On the basis of thd materials obtained through the experiments relating to efficacy of CYRH medicines caused cytokine induction ability, the basic and clinical researches have been prosecuted by dealing With the measles, the mumps, the influenza (subtype), the parainfluenza, the varicella- herps zoster and the hand-foot-mouth disease infected to the respiratory tract and which of characteristic symptoms is the febrility, and so wide-antiviral efficacy has been confirmed.

In "Korean Traditional Medicines" (the last volume), RRLM and DRLM have been recorded as GFM(cleanjng fever rhedicine).

From earlier ages, RLM have been divided into RRLM, DRLM and SRLM(steamed RLM) according to the preparation method, and so have been used in a wide variety of uses.

RRLM and DRLM are all CYRH medicines and SRLM has been used as the producing blood medicine.

RRLM goes down the fever, gets off the blood fever and brings into existence the resin.

DRLM strengthens with the negative element, brings into existence the blood and removes the blood fever.

Therefore, RRLM has been used in the blood fever symptoms, the engorgement symptoms and the lack of the resin, and DRLM has been used in the fever and symptoms due to lack of the negative element and blood.

If it is infected by the virus, then the immune system of body reacts.

Before happening the many viral infection, by the response of viral immune reaction, the viral infection can be stopped or gone slightly.

The special attention has been paid to the medical activity component which increase the immune ability among the various medical cpmponents of RRAM and DRAM.

RRAM and DRAM has been used for the preparation of antiviral medicine, and the percent of its mass is 50-80% in each.

This antiviral medicine has been used for the treatment of RNA virus infection, DNA virus infection and its mixed infection of the respiratory tract.

DRAM is a little bitter and its property is cold.

It has been known that DRLM strengthens with the negative element, produces the blood and removes the blood fever.

DRLM has been used in the fever and disease due to the lack of the negative element and blood. The composition is catapol, mannite, petbarih, polysaccharide, sugar, 11 kinds of amino acid, steroid and flavonoid.

It diffuses the air- fever, facilitates an eruption, being in high spirits, detoxicating and rejects ONYOK(the acute epidemic pyreticosis).

It functions sedation, cardiant effect, anticonvulsion and diuresis effect, so that it has been used in the Air-Fever influenza, headache due to the Air-Fever, gingivostomatitis, measles, pharynx and larynx inflammation, long time catharsis, descensus uteri and JUNGGIHAHAB(the musculus slacken and the internal organs become descent).

Fructus v¾icis belongs to verbenaceae, it is to be dried the ripened fruits of vitex rotundifolia 1. in the sun.

The taste is bitter, sharp and the property is little cool. The route operated is the route of bladder. It diffuses the Air-Fever, makes eye brighter and kills an intestinal worm.

It has been used in the Air-Fever influenza, the headache, the fever, an ache of eye, a tear, getting stiff arms and legs and killing the worm,

By considering a specific feature of an invasion tract of the respiratory epidemic diseases, the above sub-medicines by increasing and decreasing are added in the present medicine that contain RRLM and DRLM as the main component, and so it has been applied to a clinical practice. CD Measles

RRAM has been used, it harvested in late aiitumn and kept into the humid sand by washing or like that lest the component contents should be not changed.

Example 2. Antiviral function experiment(external experiment)

Through the experiments relating to efficacy of this medicines caused cytokine induction ability, pharmacological action has been certificated.

As a result, its interferon induction ability in the human diploid cell MRC-5 was 8unit/mfi.

With the reference of this result, the basic experiment have been prosecuted by dealing with the measles, the varicella- herps zoster, the influenza A(HiNi), H5N1 "bird flu" and H3N1 "human flu" has been infected by the respiratory tract and of which characteristic symptoms is the febrility.

As this experiment is to illustrate the influence which the medicine exercise on the virus duplication courses for human infected by the different virus, it is measured through the method of the tissue culture and the incubated egg.

After that, the titer have been estimated by auto hemagglutinative reaction and the number of inhibition zone has been calculated by Reed and Muench method.
