Abstract:
Use of a reagent in flotation decalcification of magnesite, comprising using inhibitor BAPTA for a flotation decalcification process of magnesite, and particularly grinding and ball-milling high-calcium and low-grade magnesite to obtain magnesite powder; placing the magnesite powder in a flotation device, adding deionized water and a solution of the inhibitor BAPTA in dimethylsulfoxide, mixing uniformly, forming a slurry, adding NaOH to the magnesite slurry at room temperature, adjusting the pH value to 10 to 12, adding a collecting agent sodium oleate, stirring uniformly, and then performing direct flotation roughing to obtain a low-calcium magnesite concentrate. The added inhibitor BAPTA has different floatabilities for magnesite and impurity mineral dolomite in magnesite, removing calcium minerals from magnesite, improving the quality of magnesite, which provides a new reagent for beneficiation and decalcification of high-calcium and low-grade magnesite.
