Abstract:
The present invention relates to a user authentication method using a biometric authentication system. The present invention comprises the steps of: executing a biometric authentication system in order to authenticate a user by a mobile device for user authentication in an environment including the mobile device, a relay server having mobile device identification information, an authentication server, and a biometric information server; comparing input biometric information entered into the mobile device with stored authentication information stored in the mobile device so as to perform biometric authentication and generate a biometric authentication result, by the biometric authentication system; when the input biometric information is a lawful user's own information and the biometric authentication result shows inconsistency of the input biometric information with the stored authentication information but is determined to have a high possibility of indicating the lawful user himself or herself, executing a complementary authentication system different from the biometric authentication system, receiving complementary authentication information, and performing complementary authentication on the basis of the complementary authentication information, by the mobile device; providing a complementary authentication result and the biometric authentication result to the relay server by the mobile device; providing the biometric authentication result and the complementary authentication result to the authentication server by the relay server; and transmitting the biometric authentication result and the complementary authentication result to the mobile device by the authentication server.
