Abstract:
Provided is a method in a user equipment (UE), comprising: determining, by a radio resource control (RRC) layer, that early data transmission (EDT) is to be initiated; sending, by the RRC layer, first instruction information to a media access control (MAC) layer for instructing the MAC layer to initiate a random access process for the EDT; and initiating, by the MAC layer, the random access process for the EDT in response to the received first indication information.
