USER TERMINAL, APPLICATION SERVER, AND METHOD FOR ESTABLISHING CALL

A user terminal, an application server, and a method for establishing call. The user terminal includes an encoder and a decoder, the first request module for sending the first call request message, which carries a direction indication of a media stream needs to be established between the user terminal and a user terminal on the other side, to the application server, a control module for controlling working states of the encoder and the decoder according to the direction indication of the media stream, and a communication module for sending the media stream to the user terminal on the other side or receiving the media stream according to working states of the encoder and the decoder when a response message from the application server is received. When calling the user terminal on the other side, the user terminal in each embodiment of the invention controls the encoder and the decoder to be on or off according to the direction of the media stream needs to be established, and thereby the resource of the encoder and the decoder is saved.
