The purpose of the present invention is to suitably perform uplink transmission and/or a listening operation associated with uplink transmission when controlling uplink transmission on the basis of a listening result. Provided is a user terminal comprising: a transmission unit that transmits an uplink shared channel, an uplink control channel, and an uplink reference signal; and a control unit that controls the transmission of the uplink shared channel, the uplink control channel, and/or the uplink reference signal on the basis of the listening result in an uplink. When transmission of an uplink reference signal is set in a subframe that carries out transmission of the uplink shared channel and/or the uplink control channel, the control unit also controls the transmission of the uplink reference signal on the basis of the result of listening performed prior to the transmission of the uplink shared channel and/or the uplink control channel.
