Abstract:
Provided is utilization of an antioxidant agent for producing a device for selectively removing HLA-DR-positive monocytes whereby HLA-DR-positive monocytes are selectively removed from blood containing an anticoagulant agent, wherein the device for selectively removing HLA-DR-positive monocytes is provided with a cell removal filter comprising a surface-unmodified polyester nonwoven fabric, the cell removal filter is filled with a filling solution containing the antioxidant agent and has been radiosterilized, the anticoagulant agent comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of citric acid and salts thereof, and the antioxidant agent comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of sodium pyrosulfite, potassium pyrosulfite, sodium thiosulfate, sodium hydrogen sulfite, sodium sulfite, hypophosphorous acid, ascorbic acid and ascorbic acid derivatives.
