Abstract:
A UV-LED drying apparatus and method for smart identification of the width of a printed item, comprising a rack (110), light boxes (120, 130), UV-LED lamp pieces (170), a conveying roller group (150), and a drive apparatus, the UV-LED lamp pieces (170) being arranged in the light box (120), the drive apparatus being used for driving the conveying roller group (150) to rotate, the UV-LED lamp pieces (170) at least being divided into two groups, and each group of UV LED lamp pieces (170) being capable of being turned on/turned off respectively; and also comprising a width sensor (180) used for recognising the width of a printed item to be dried and a PLC controller (160), the PLC controller (160) controlling each group of UV-LED pieces (170) to turn on/turn off on the basis of the width recognised by the width sensor (180); by means of the width sensor (180) recognising the width of the printed item to be dried and the PLC controller (160) determining the setting values, the UV-LED lamp pieces are partially turned on/turned off, thereby reducing energy loss and consumption, and increasing the service life of the UV-LED lamp pieces.
