Abstract:
Turbo Channel (TC) is a system for the purification of water by means of UV light. Round reactor tubes are used, in the center of which is arranged a respective burner having a jacket tube. The rotating vane channel, which is driven by the water flowing through it, is located between jacket tube and inner wall. Inside the vane channel, the water, which is already irradiated, is conveyed upwards and beneath the inner reactor wall, thus forming a layer of already irradiated water. By further conveying irradiated water, said layer is again pushed downwards until it again reaches directly the jacket tube (the radiation intensity is highest here). The process starts again. The advantage: As determined by the system, a secure lethal irradiation of all microorganisms flowing therethrough is ensured with extremely little expenditure of energy.
