Abstract:
[Problem] To reduce the size of a V engine while increasing the degree of freedom for setting a muffler. [Solution] A V engine (1) comprising: an engine body (3) which includes a crankcase (7) for rotatably supporting a crankshaft (11) and first and second cylinder banks (8, 9) extending from the crankcase (7); an exhaust collector pipe (31) which is connected to the first and second cylinder banks (8, 9); catalysts (32a, 32b) which are accommodated in the exhaust collector pipe (31); and a muffler detachably connected to the exhaust collector pipe (31), wherein the catalysts (32a, 32b) are arranged in a region (Z) between axis lines (L1, L2) of the first and second cylinder banks (8, 9) as viewed in the axial direction of the crankshaft (11).
