Abstract:
The present invention relates to a vacuum cleaner and a control method therefor and, more specifically, to a vacuum cleaner which is convenient to operate while cleaning and a control method therefor. According to one embodiment of the present invention, provided are a vacuum cleaner and a control method therefor, the vacuum cleaner comprising: a main body; a handle provided on the main body; a wheel provided at the lower portion of the main body and movably supporting the main body; a motor for driving the wheel with electric power; an encoder for detecting the rotating speed of the wheel or motor; and a control unit that controls the driving of the motor by varying the voltage applied to the motor on the basis of the rotating speed detected by the encoder, wherein the control unit drives the wheel in an electric manner by applying a voltage to the motor when the initial travel speed of the main body is higher than or equal to a set value.
