The present invention relates to a vacuum heat treatment apparatus enabling an object to be inserted into or recovered from a heating chamber or a cooling chamber by means of a transferring means. The vacuum heat treatment apparatus comprises: a plurality of heating chambers into which an object is inserted and in which a heat treatment process is performed; a rail disposed between the plurality of heating chambers; a cart which is disposed on the rail and moves; a cooling chamber which is disposed on the cart and is for cooling the object; and a transferring means which is disposed on the cart and is for inserting or recovering the object into or from any one of the plurality of heating chambers and the cooling chamber. Therefore, when heat treatment is sequentially finished in the plurality of heating chambers, the transferring means moves and recovers the object and then inserts same into the cooling chamber, quenching can sequentially be performed and thus production efficiency can be enhanced.
