Abstract:
Provided is a vacuum joint which has a simple construction and with which vacuum pipes can be attached to and separated from each other in an extremely simple and speedy manner; also provided is a vacuum utilization device that uses this vacuum joint. This vacuum joint (10) comprises a first joint member (14) and a second joint member (16) which are formed in a tubular shape and attached respectively to opposing ends of a pair of vacuum pipes (12X) and (12Y). Substantially flat contact surfaces (14a) and (16a) which include a ferromagnetic body are provided on the respective distal-end surfaces of the first joint member (14) and second joint member (16) in the axial direction. In addition, a magnet (18) is attached to at least one of the contact surface (14a) of the first joint member (14) and the contact surface (16a) of the second joint member (16).
