Abstract:
The invention provides a value-added service providing system and method. The method includes the following steps: after receiving a service request of a user terminal, a value-added service engine transmits a traffic start request message to a value-added service authentication and charging centre carrying a user identifier and a value-added service identifier; based on the traffic information of the value-added service, the value-added service authentication and charging centre sets prices, calculates the used amount, and transmits a freezing request to a prepaid device carrying the amount needing to be frozen and the user identifier; the prepaid device determines whether the balance of the user is enough to freeze the corresponding amount; if the balance is not enough, a freezing failure message is returned to the value-added service authentication and charging centre carrying the user identifier and the balance of the user; based on the balance of the user, the value-added service authentication and charging centre inversely calculates the traffic quota available to the user, and returns to the value-added service engine a traffic start response message carrying the user identifier and the traffic quota available to the user; after receiving the traffic start response message, the value-added service engine provides the value-added service for the user.
