Abstract:
Disclosed is an intake/exhaust valve control device (1) for an internal combustion engine provided with a cylinder having an intake valve and an exhaust valve, said intake/exhaust valve control device being provided with solenoids (9-16) for driving the intake valve and/or the exhaust valve, a battery (6) for supplying an electric current to the solenoids (9-16), a battery state prediction unit (34) for predicting the voltage state of the battery (6), and a current carrying start timing setting unit (32) for setting the current carrying start timing of the battery (6) with respect to the solenoids (9-16) on the basis of the result of the prediction by the battery state prediction unit (34). The intake/exhaust valve control device (1) makes it possible to obtain the current carrying amount required to drive the solenoids (9-16) in appropriate timing to thereby ensure the responsivity of the solenoids (9-16).
