Abstract:
A valve control device performs control for eliminating or preventing seizure of an EGR valve (30) by opening and closing the valve near its totally closed position. Near the totally closed position, the valve control device performs “seizure avoidance operation” for opening and closing the EGR valve (30) and also performs “seizure determination operation.” When it is determined that seizure of the EGR valve (30) is removed, the EGR valve (30) is positioned at the totally closed position, and standard position correction is performed so that that position is set as a standard position when valve opening/closing control is performed while an engine is operated.
