A valve core and a water discharge device. A first water outlet and a second water outlet are formed in a side wall of a housing (10), a first clamping slot (311) and a second clamping slot (312) are provided in a first surface of a movable plate (31), a first open slot (313) and a second open slot (314) are provided in a second surface, and a first water intake hole (321) and a second water intake hole (322) are provided in a stationary plate (32). When a clamping portion (230) of a valve rod (20) is located at the first clamping slot (311), the clamping portion rotates to a first position to open a water path, and the clamping portion rotates to a second position to close the water path; and when the clamping portion (230) of the valve rod (20) is located at the second clamping slot (312), the clamping portion rotates to the first position to close the water path, and the clamping portion rotates to the second position to open the water path. In the valve core, switching the position of the clamping portion of the valve rod at the clamping slots in the movable plate can achieve forward and reverse rotation of the valve core to control water discharge.
