Provided is a valve device for a fuel tank, the valve device being capable of discharging fuel vapor within the fuel tank and being, even if fuel enters a ventilation chamber, less likely to allow the fuel to enter a fuel vapor discharge opening. This valve device (10) for a fuel tank has a housing (15) having a valve chamber which is provided below a partition wall and a ventilation chamber which is provided above the partition wall; a recess (64) having a first opening (23) formed in the bottom section thereof and defining a part of the ventilation chamber; and a fuel vapor discharge opening (71) formed in the inner periphery of the recess (64). The partition wall has a shelf-like wall section (63) extending from the peripheral edge of a second opening and reaching the inner periphery of the recess (64). The shelf-like wall section (63) has formed therein a first groove section (70) extending from the second opening side and connecting to the recess (64). A ceiling wall (80) is disposed above the shelf-like wall section (63) with a gap (R3) therebetween.
