Abstract:
This valve device comprises a housing, a disc, a rotary shaft (13) for rotating the disc, a seal member (30) that comes into firm slidable contact with the outer peripheral surface of the rotary shaft so as to prevent the passage of gas between the rotary shaft and the housing, and an annular mounting ring (31) with which the seal member is mounted to the housing. The mounting ring includes an annular section (32) arranged so as to surround the outer peripheral end of the seal member, a one-side plate section (33) having a plate shape contiguous to an end of the annular section on one side in the axial direction of the rotary shaft and extending from the annular section radially inward along a radial direction, and an other-side plate section (34) having a plate shape contiguous to an end of the annular section on the other side of said axial direction and extending from the annular section radially inward along the radial direction. The one-side plate section and the other-side plate section clamp in said axial direction a section of the seal member on the outer peripheral end side. The annular section, the one-side plate section, and the other-side plate section are formed of a single continuous plate material.
