A valve device (10) is provided with a flow passage part (36) through which a fluid flows, a valve body (31) for controlling the flow rate of the fluid flowing out from the flow passage part, a metal shaft (32) coupled to the valve body, a motor (71) for outputting power for causing the valve body to rotate via the shaft, and a gear part (72) for transmitting the output from the motor to the shaft. The gear part has a resin shaft insertion part (74) that forms an insertion hole (741) into which a shaft end part (40) is inserted. An end part outer-circumferential part (41) forming the outer-circumferential portion of the shaft end part includes an end part flat section (411) and an end part curved section (412). An insertion hole inner-circumferential part (75) forming the inner-circumferential portion of the insertion hole includes an insertion hole flat section (751) and an insertion hole curved section (752). The shaft end part is press-fitted such that at least a portion of the end part flat section contacts the insertion hole flat section and at least a portion of the end part curved section contacts the insertion hole curved section, and such that the axis of the shaft end part and the axis of the insertion hole overlap each other.
