Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is: to increase the reliability of a valve mechanism which enables fuel to be discharged normally at high pressure and which allows a relief valve to operate normally when fuel pressure within high-pressure piping is abnormal; and to increase the reliability of a high-pressure fuel supply pump provided with the valve mechanism.
This valve mechanism is provided with: a seat member having a seat section; a spring-receiving member having a end surface facing the inner wall surface of the seat member, the end surface forming a gap between the end surface and the inner wall surface of the seat member; a valve member formed between the spring-receiving member and the seat section; and a spring member for pressing the spring-receiving member toward the seat section from the side opposite the end surface, thereby pressing the valve member against the seat section. The end surface of the spring-receiving member is disposed closer to the seat section side than the center of gravity of the valve member.
