Abstract:
Provided is a valve stem seal which is capable of stably fixing a reinforcement ring to a valve stem guide, and which exhibits excellent working properties with respect to the attachment of the reinforcement ring to the valve stem guide. The present invention is characterized in that: a reinforcement ring is attached to a valve stem guide by fitting a cylindrical part to the valve stem guide from a side opposite an inward-facing flange part; the cylinder part is provided with a slit extending linearly in the peripheral direction, and an engagement protrusion which is provided through the slit and at the side opposite the inward-facing flange part, and which engages with an engagement recess formed in the valve stem guide; and the engagement protrusion is configured from a bent part which gradually sinks radially inward through the slit, from the side opposite the inward-facing flange part, to the position of the slit.
