Abstract:
A vane pump (100) according to the present invention comprises: a rotor (2) that is linked to a drive shaft (1); a plurality of vanes (3) that are provided to the rotor (2) so as to be capable of reciprocating motion in the radial direction; a cam ring (4) that has a cam surface (4a) along which the tip ends of the vanes (3) slide as the rotor (2) rotates; a pump chamber (6) that is partitioned by the rotor (2), the cam ring (4), and adjacent pairs of the vanes (3); a suction port (11) that guides hydraulic oil to the pump chamber (6); a discharge port (12) that guides hydraulic oil discharged from the pump chamber (6); and a notch (20) that is formed from the opening edge of the suction port (11) toward the direction opposite the rotational direction of the rotor (2), wherein, as the rotor (2) rotates, the pump chamber (6) becomes connected to the suction port (11) via the notch (20) during a process in which the pump chamber (6) becomes disconnected from the discharge port (12) from a state of being connected to the discharge port (12).
