Abstract:
A vane pump (100) is provided with a cam ring (4) and a body-side lateral plate (30) that is provided in contact with one lateral surface of the cam ring (4). The body-side lateral plate (30) has a first back pressure groove (34) that is in communication with a back pressure room (5) in suction regions (42a, 42c) in which the capacity of a pump room (6) expands. The first back pressure groove (34) has a high-pressure groove (34a) that guides a working fluid to the back pressure room (5), and a low-pressure groove (34b) that guides a working fluid having a pressure lower than that of the working fluid guided by the high-pressure groove (34a) to the back pressure room (5) while guiding the working fluid to the back pressure room (5) on a side closer to a front side in a rotating direction of a rotor (2) than the back pressure room (5) to which the high-pressure groove (34a) guides the working fluid. The working fluid is selectively guided to the back pressure chamber (5) from the high-pressure groove (34a) or the low-pressure groove (34b) as the rotor (2) rotates.
