Abstract:
It is possible to provide a variable capacitance circuit of a small size capable
of reducing distortion and current consumption and satisfying the power resistance
at a low cost. The variable capacitance circuit includes: a first variable capacitance
element unit formed by connecting n (n is a natural number not smaller than 2) variable
capacitance capacitors including at least one variable capacitance element
having a dielectric layer whose dielectric constant changes in accordance with
an applied DC voltage and a pair of electrodes sandwiching the dielectric layer,
the n first variable capacitance element units being connected in series when
viewed from high frequency and in parallel when viewed from DC current; and a second
variable capacitance element unit to which voltage amplitude smaller than voltage
amplitude of a high-frequency signal applied to the first variable capacitance
element unit is applied and which includes one variable capacitance element
or m (m is a natural number smaller than n) variable capacitance capacitors which
are connected in series.
