Abstract:
This variable-capacity turbine is provided with a variable nozzle unit for adjusting the flow of exhaust gas in an exhaust gas passage for guiding exhaust gas to a turbine rotor. The variable nozzle unit includes a plurality of nozzle vanes that are arranged, in the exhaust gas passage, at intervals in the circumferential direction of the turbine rotor. When the exhaust gas passage is divided into a tongue-part-vicinity area located in the vicinity of a tongue part of a scroll flow passage and a tongue-part-distant area other than the tongue-part-vicinity area, the plurality of nozzle vanes include at least one tongue-part-vicinity nozzle vane located in the tongue-part-vicinity area and at least one tongue-part-distant nozzle vane located in the tongue-part-distant area, and at least one tongue-part-vicinity nozzle vane has, at the front end and/or the back end of the tongue-part-vicinity nozzle vane, a notched portion that is cut out to a greater extent than the front end or the back end of the tongue-part-distant nozzle vane.
