Abstract:
The present invention provides a variable cross section type blade for a horizontal axis wind power generator. More particularly, the present invention relates to a variable cross section type blade for a horizontal axis wind power generator, the blade including: a main wing having a diamond type airfoil-shaped cross section vertically symmetrical with respect to a chord line thereof; and an auxiliary wing having a cross section vertically symmetrical to that of an upper surface part of the main wing, the auxiliary wing coupled to the main wing while being vertically rotatable, so that, when the main wing rotates, the auxiliary wing can rotate up and down by its own weight to change the cross sectional shape of the main wing. Therefore, the blade can smoothly rotate even by gentle breeze and thus can significantly improve power generation efficiency. Moreover, the blade can safely withstand even a strong wind, such as occurring in a typhoon, and thus has significantly enhanced durability.
