Abstract:
A variable displacement-type clutchless compressor where the projection of a housing from a portion where high-pressure side piping is connected is limited and where a sufficient gap is provided between an outer shell section of a cylinder bore and a check valve to prevent an increase in passage resistance. A discharge region for discharging refrigerant, discharged from a compression chamber, to the outside of the compressor is constructed from the following elements: a muffler chamber (37), a check valve receiving section (44) provided on the downstream side of the muffler chamber (37) and receiving a check valve (43), a discharge passage (45) to which the high-pressure side piping is connected and formed substantially in parallel with the check valve receiving section (44), and a communication passage (46) for allowing communication between the exit side of the check valve (43) of the check valve receiving section (44) and the discharge passage (45).
