Abstract:
The invention relates to a variable flow resistance element comprising a fluid inlet (20), a fluid outlet (22) and a closed fluid conduit (16) of a fixed length, which connects the fluid inlet (20) to the fluid outlet (22), allowing the passage of said fluid. Said element also comprises a unit for varying the flow cross-section of the fluid conduit (16) over a predetermined length of said conduit, in order to adjust the flow resistance that is defined by the fluid conduit. The ratio of the predetermined length of the fluid conduit (16) to the characteristic diameter of said conduit is > 500 and the unit for varying the flow cross-section is configured to exert an external pressure on wall sections of the fluid conduit, said pressure being independent of the pressure of a medium in the fluid conduit.
