Abstract:
A variable geometry mechanism is provided with: an annular plate having a first surface and a second surface and having bearing holes formed therein; a drive ring having a third surface and a fourth surface and capable of rotating about the axis of the plate; a plurality of nozzle vanes each of which includes a nozzle shaft having a first end and a second end and a nozzle body disposed at the first end, and which are mounted to the plate with the nozzle shafts passed through the bearing holes so that the second end protrudes from the second surface; and a plurality of nozzle link plates each including a proximal end located on the second surface and a distal end located on the fourth surface. The drive ring includes a plurality of mounting portions disposed on the fourth surface and protruding from the fourth surface, and a self-stopper disposed on the fourth surface and protruding from the fourth surface. The proximal ends of the nozzle link plates are mounted to the second end of the nozzle shaft, and the distal ends of the nozzle link plates are operably mounted to the mounting portions. The self-stopper is arranged between one bearing hole and one mounting portion in the radial direction of the plate, and regulates the range of movement of the nozzle link plates.
