Abstract:
This variable magnification optical system (ZL) has, in order from the object side, a first lens group (G1) having a positive refractive power, a second lens group (G2) having a negative refractive power, a first intermediate lens group (GM1) having a positive refractive power, a second intermediate lens group (GM2) having a positive or negative refractive power, and a final lens group (GLT) having a positive or negative refractive power, wherein the intervals between adjacent lens groups change when changing the magnification, the second intermediate lens group (GM2) has a focusing lens group which moves during focusing, the first lens group (G1) has an eleventh lens having a negative refractive power and a twelfth lens having a positive refractive power, and the optical system satisfies the following conditional expression. 0.010
