Abstract:
This variable magnification optical system has, in sequence from the object side along the optical axis, a first lens group having a positive refractive index, a second lens group having a negative refractive index, and a third lens group having a positive refractive index, and when varying the magnification from a wide-end state to a tele-end state, the first lens group, second lens group, and third lens group are moved satisfying a predetermined conditional formula in a manner such that the spacing of the first lens group and second lens group changes and the spacing of the second lens group and third lens group changes. As a result, the variable magnification optical system can be compact and provided with high optical performance.
