Abstract:
A variable nozzle device 20 for a variable-capacity turbocharger, the variable nozzle device 20 comprising a nozzle mount 21, a nozzle plate 22 that is positioned facing the nozzle mount 21 and forms an annular nozzle flow channel 4 with the nozzle mount 21, and a plurality of variable nozzle vanes 6 that are provided at prescribed intervals along the circumferential direction of the nozzle flow channel 4 so that each is capable of turning about a spindle O2. The nozzle plate 22 is provided with a first surface 33 facing the nozzle mount 21 and at least one through-hole 36 passing through the first surface 33 and a second surface 35 on the opposite side. The at least one through-hole 36 has: a first opening 36a formed in the first surface 33, farther inward in the radial direction than the spindle; and a second opening 36b formed in the second surface 35, farther outward in the radial direction than the first opening 36a or at the same radial-directional position as the first opening 36a. Working fluid g injected from the through-hole 36 thereby merges with working fluid G that flows past the plurality of variable nozzle vanes 6, through the nozzle flow channel 4, toward a turbine wheel 3, whereby even if no protrusion is provided to the first surface 33 as in a prior-art variable nozzle device, the flow of the working fluid G approaches a hub-side inner surface 32, and shifting of the working fluid G toward a shroud side, i.e., drifting of the working fluid G can be minimized.
