Abstract:

[Solution] The variable nozzle mechanism according to the present invention is provided with an annular nozzle mount, a plurality of nozzle vanes turnably supported respectively in a plurality of locations along the circumferential direction of the nozzle mount, and a drive ring provided so as to be able to turn relative to the nozzle mount and configured so as to transfer drive force to the nozzle vanes and turn the nozzle vanes so that the blade angles of the nozzle vanes can be varied; the drive ring including low-rigidity areas and high-rigidity areas which have irregularities in the thickness direction of the drive ring and have a greater geometrical moment of inertia than the low-rigidity areas in a cross-section along the radial direction of the drive ring, the low-rigidity areas and the high-rigidity areas being arranged alternately in the circumferential direction, and the low-rigidity areas and the high-rigidity areas being either odd in number or being provided at a nonuniform pitch in the circumferential direction.
