Abstract:
This variable nozzle unit is provided with a variable nozzle blade which is disposed between a hub wall surface and a shroud wall surface and which can pivot within a gas inflow passage about a pivot axis which is parallel to the rotation axis of a turbine blade wheel. The variable nozzle blade includes a front edge, a rear edge, and an outer blade surface which connects the front edge and the rear edge and which faces the outside radially of the rotation axis. The hub wall surface side part of the outer blade surface has a recess formed in the area thereof closer to the front edge side than at least the pivot axis.
