Abstract:
This variable power optical system is configured so as to have the following arranged in order from the object side: a first lens group (G1) having a positive refractive power; a second lens group (G2) having a negative refractive power; and a successive group (GR) configured from at least one lens group. When varying the power thereof, the interval between the first lens group (G1) and the second lens group (G2) changes, and the interval between the second lens group (G2) and the successive group (GR) changes. The successive group (GR) has a focusing group (Gfc) that has a negative refractive power for focusing. Nearest the object side, the first lens group (G1) has a first -1 lens that has a positive refractive power. Furthermore, the first lens group (G1) satisfies the following conditional expression: 0.85
