Abstract:
A variable power optical system (ZL) includes, lined up in order from the object side, a first lens group (G1) having a positive refractive power, a second lens group (G2) having a negative refractive power, a third lens group (G3) having a positive refractive power, a fourth lens group (G4) having a positive refractive power, and a rear lens group (GR), wherein the interval between adjacent lens groups is changed in order to vary the power, the rear lens group (GR) includes a focusing lens group that moves during focusing, the third lens group (G3) is formed from at least one lens having a positive refractive power, and the following conditional expression is satisfied. 0.20
