Abstract:
The present variable-rigidity device is provided with a first longitudinal member, and a second longitudinal member disposed adjacent to and along the first longitudinal member. The first longitudinal member is provided with at least one high flexural rigidity section and at least one low flexural rigidity section. The flexural rigidity of the high flexural rigidity section is greater than the flexural rigidity of the low flexural rigidity section. The high flexural rigidity section and the low flexural rigidity section are disposed in line. The flexural rigidity of the variable-rigidity device in the low flexural rigidity section thereof can be switched between a high-rigidity state of relatively high rigidity and a low-rigidity state of relatively low rigidity by altering the relative position of the second longitudinal member with respect to the first longitudinal member.
