Abstract:
Provided is a variable speed accelerator that comprises an electric device that generates rotational drive force and a transmission device that changes the speed of the rotational drive force generated by the electric device and transmits the rotational drive force to a drive target. The transmission device has: a sun gear; a planetary gear that engages the sun gear; an internal gear that engages the planetary gear; a planetary gear carrier that has a planetary gear carrier shaft; and an internal gear carrier that has an internal gear carrier shaft. A sun gear shaft forms an output shaft that is connected to the drive target. The internal gear carrier shaft forms a constant speed input shaft. The planetary gear carrier shaft forms a variable speed input shaft. The electric device has a constant speed electric motor that has a constant speed rotor that makes the constant speed input shaft of the transmission device rotate in a first direction. The electric device also has a variable speed electric motor: that has a variable speed rotor that is connected to the variable speed input shaft of the transmission device, that is a cylinder that is centered on a shaft line, and that has the constant speed input shaft inserted through a shaft insertion hole that passes therethrough in the axial direction; and that, by making the variable speed rotor rotate at a maximum rotational speed in a second direction that is opposite the first direction, makes the output shaft rotate at a maximum rotational speed. The variable speed accelerator also comprises: a power source line that connects the variable speed electric motor and an alternating current power source such that the variable speed electric motor rotates in the second direction; a rotational speed control device that is provided on the power source line and that controls the rotational speed of the variable speed electric motor; a first switch that is provided on the power source line; a bypass power source line that connects the variable speed electric motor and the alternating current power source such that the variable speed electric motor rotates in the first direction; and a second switch that is provided on the bypass line.
