Abstract:
Provided is a variable speed motor device with which it is possible to reduce power loss and weight. A PWM inverter has one or three stop legs capable of cutting off power supply current supplied from a first DC power supply. When the free-wheeling current of a stator coil charges a low-voltage battery via a rectifier and a charging switch, the inverter has one or three stop legs. During one stop-leg spatial vector PWM, six sub-vectors each including one stop leg are used. During another stop-leg spatial vector PWM, six sub-vectors each including one stop leg and six main vectors each having no stop leg are used. The connection of a plurality of batteries is switched by a connection switching circuit.
