Title:
VARIABLE VALVE DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/063537
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a variable valve device for an internal combustion engine, the variable valve device making it possible to change the rotation speed of an inverted cam lobe during a single rotation of a driving camshaft when a structure is employed in which the driving camshaft is driven by the rotational force of a crankshaft, and also making it possible to satisfactorily improve the performance of the internal combustion engine. The variable valve device comprises: the driving camshaft (44); and the inverted cam lobe (50a) which is rotatably supported by the driving camshaft (44). The variable valve device comprises a control sleeve (70) which includes a track surface (70a) that is eccentric to the rotation center of the control sleeve (70). The variable valve device comprises a link mechanism (68) which is linked to the driving camshaft (44) and the inverted cam lobe (50a) and includes a control roller (64) that makes contact with the track surface (70a). The variable valve device comprises an actuator (76) for driving the control sleeve (70). The amount of control of the actuator (76) is controlled so that the amount of movement of the track surface (70a) in the planar direction is altered according to the operation conditions of the internal combustion engine (10).
